Story 1

Note from the writer, Wilson Taylor

First character story: Augustus Park Korean male, early 20s.

General outline so far (though I'm kind of winging it a little to see how it feels) Park found the train seemingly by random incident. Having run away from an unspecified location (and setting), Park came to this adventure unprepared. He only begins writing after having encountered the potentially recurring character Faulhurst, a rat who lives aboard the train. Will act as a baseline story from which to base subsequent deviations off of.

General Tone: Lonely, a little silly, simple, low stakes.

Letter One

One of the following two options is randomly picked to be letter one.

The rat gave me these pages telling me I'd need them. Forgot his name, it was a real, like, person's name. Weird. Was taking it really seriously at first, like, "when you need them you'll know", but I think this might just be printer paper and a pen. But I think I need them now because this train just got way weirder out of nowhere. I have no one to talk about it with and I can't find my phone. Taking my chances that these aren't magical pieces of paper. Will write more later. Getting motion sick. A.P.

These are the pages the rat gave me. He said I'd need them? Forgot his name, it was a real, like, person's name. Maybe started with F or H? Was so serious, "when you need them you'll know", but its just A4 paper. This train isnt making any sense? I guess I need them so I don't lose my mind. I have no one to talk about it with and I can't find my phone. I hope he didn't have a better use for this in mind. Will write more later. Getting motion sick. A.P.

I hope I am using this right. He said "When you need them you'll know". But, how will I know? What if this is magic paper meant to be used in figuring this train out and I'm wasting them on this? They just look like normal printer paper. But they could be magic! I mean, the guy was a rat! Like an actual rat. He had a tail, whiskers and fur, but he spoke like a human. What was his name? Fall hurts? Foul hurst? Faul.. I don't know. Anyway, hopefully this paper stops me from losing my mind on here. That is what I am hoping. A.P.

Letter Two

Letter Two- Was invited to poker by skeletons there I said it. A.P.

Letter Three

Nothing quite as weird as the skeleton thing has happened yet. More monsters mostly, lotta slimes, one wolf thing? I can't stop thinking about the skeletons though. That really weirded me out. I'm not getting as motion sick writing this time. I need to sit down for a little longer anyway. Might as well keep writing, it feels nice. Might be the breeze through the hole in this car. It's really nice out. We never had weather like this at home. Think I'm gonna take a small nap. A.P.

That skeleton thing was strange. Nothing else like that since though. Passing lots of trees, mountains. Its a pretty country. I didn't imagine those skeletons to be so inviting though, were they trying to trick me? The whole things is uncomfortable. Thinking about it makes me uneasy, or maybe its motion sickness. Might as well keep writing, it feels nice. Might be the breeze through the hole in this car. It's really nice out. We never had weather like this at home. Think I'm gonna take a small nap. A.P.

Letter Four

I'm still waiting for more weird stuff to happen. I went into one of the boxcars and there were some skeletons sitting around a table. I needed a place to sit and there was an open chair. I sat down and the skeletons were alive like they'd been that way the whole time. They were in the middle of a conversation. They were talking about weather, like, whether it was spring or summer, they couldn't tell. They told me to ante up and I fell out of my chair and ran to the next boxcar. I've been waiting for it to come back and it hasn't. A.P.

Things are weird, but not as much as it has been. I'm on edge for the next thing. One of the creates just started glowing. It got brighter as I approached it. It nearly blinded me, than it was gone. and I think I was in a different cart or things had switched around. I left quickly, and things seem normal again. Hah, "normal". This train never ends. A. P.

Letter Five

Still nothing. Did I dream that? I didn't dream the rat because I'm holding this paper? But why would I dream poker skeletons and not dream magic rat? Feeling a little sick. May take a nap. A.P

Story Formatting for importing

testStory.txt

Example File for formatting

Character: Name of Character

Story: Name of Story

"Character:" and "Story" will be imported for editor purposes. It is not used in the actual game (but we could if we wanted to). Both will read until end of line. Order not important

Everything else before "Letter One" will be ignore by the system. Feel free to include notes to the game designer.

Letter One-

Everything follow this is the letter contents.

Letter Two-

It will remove white space and new lines at the start & end of the letter

(but no in the middle),

so you can do space as you see fit.

Note to Will, Let me know if this needs to change.

letter 3-

"Letter" must be first (non space) characters on its line. Capitalization doesnt matter

Letter four-

Letter headers must end in "-". Blank space before does not matter, but it must be the last character on the line

Letter FIVE-

If a Letter headers does not have a "-" 12 characters after the word letter, it will be assumed to be a line of the previous letter, and not read as a header

Letter 06-

What comes after the word "Letter" doest actually matter, it can be a number, word, anything, as long as the '-' is 12 within the next characters. The system doesnt read the number, it just assumes letters are in order.

You can call every letter "Letter -" and it will work.

Alt

Including Alt on its own line, provides an alternative letter for that number. So this counts as a second optoins for Letter 06

A big thanks to Wilson Taylor, for co-designing this story with me
